"Why Don't We" is one of the hottest boy bands in the world. The American band consists of five guys; Zach Herron (20), Daniel Seavey (22), Jack Avery (22), Corbyn Besson (23), and the eldest; Jonah Marais (23).

On September 27th, 2016, the five guys decided to make music together and founded their band out of this determination. They were already close friends before, so the decision to work together wasn't difficult for them. Just two months later, the young boys released their first single "Taking You". The song went viral and a fan base was built up. In the past years, Why Don't We has released six EP's and two study albums, which have been very well received by the fans. The five have collaborated with stars like the YouTuber Logan Paul and even released a song with the famous rapper Macklemore. The American singer Ed Sheeran, whose songs are constantly in the top charts, has already written two songs for the boy band; Trust Fund Baby and What Am I. They have also been nominated twice for the MTV Video Music Award and have even won along with other artists.

The song "8 Letters", which was released in 2018, has been listened to on Spotify 280 million and is now world-famous. They then released their first album of the same title and went on a world tour with it. Then in 2019, they released a new song every month, which of course the fans really appreciated because there was new music every month. After this period of almost constantly working on new songs to release, the boys took most of 2020 off and a break from the hustle. This was certainly also related to the Corona Pandemic, which turned normal everyday life upside down for everyone anyway. After the break, they made an impressive and long-awaited comeback as a band with the single "Falling". 

Since then they have been releasing their own music, which was written and produced entirely by the band members. This was a new step for the boy band, which also resulted from a change in management. Apparently, the previous management had very specific ideas for their private life, the tours, and the songs that should be released. The members of Why Don't We felt very restricted and are now trying to start freshly. Above all, you can clearly see the change in how the individual guys express themselves on social media. For example, they no longer hide their relationships, speak their minds openly, and are much more themselves.

The five attractive boys are not only incredibly talented in music, but are also known for their great humor and the many interactions with their fans. In addition to singing and making music, each one of them has their own individual talents.

To get to know the band better, let's introduce the individual members in more detail;

Zach Herron is the youngest of the bunch. The 20-year-old grew up in Dallas, Texas. Before he was part of Why Don't We, a video of him covering Shawn Mendes' Stitches went viral, racking up millions of views on YouTube and Instagram. In the band, Zach often gets assigned the chorus with his soft and striking voice.

Raised in Pennsylvania, Jack Avery is often credited as the group's clown. Along with Zach, the two are the "fun duo" and are also referred to as "Jachary" by fans. Two years ago, Jack had a daughter with his now ex-girlfriend and influencer, Gabriela Gonzalez; Lavender May Avery. The topic was a big drama in the fan community at the time and was often discussed. That probably didn't do the new parents any good, which is why Gabriela moved to Hawaii with Lavender shortly afterward to start a new life away from the hustle and bustle. Jack's relationship with his daughter is nevertheless very close and he often visits her in Hawaii.

Corbyn Besson comes from Virginia and hits very high pitches with his voice. The 23-year-old is very interested in space and is also quite smart. Some fans would describe him as the boy band's „cute nerd“. Born in Vancouver, Daniel Seavey not only stuns girls with his voice but also with his deep blue eyes. He is incredibly musical and plays over 20 instruments! Before forming the band, he was part of "American Idol" in 2015. There he already enchanted the jury with his voice and at the age of 15, he was the youngest finalist of the season.

The oldest of the five members is Jonah Marais. Jonah comes from Stillwater, Minnesota, is a total family person, and always gives good advice to his younger band members. He was raised on a farm in the country with his younger sister. Jonah is often seen as the sensible one and is incredibly popular with girls for his voice and attractive looks.

The five guys have fans all over the world. They call their fans the "Limelights". This name came entirely from the fans themselves and evolved from the lyrics "I need you in my life like Limelight" from the first song the band released; "Taking You".

All over the world, many "Limelights" are just waiting for Why Don't We to make new music and finally go on a world tour again. At the boy band's concerts, their fans have the opportunity to get to know their idols personally with the so-called "Limelight Ticket", where the boys chat with some fans for half an hour before the show. Unfortunately, because of the corona pandemic, there was no talk of a tour in Europe.
