Matthias Schweighöfer is best known for his talent in front of the camera and his many appearances in numerous German movies and series. Schweighöfer was born on March 11, 1981 in Anklam, Neubrandenburg. Both of his parents, Michael and Gitta Schweighöfer, are also actors, as was his paternal grandfather (Willy Schweighöfer) and his uncle Joachim Schweighöfer before them. In 2010, the talented actor not only starred in the film “What a Man”, but even directed it. So this film represented his debut as a director and another turning point in his career.

In 2015 Matthias Schweighöfer found his passion for music and singing while working in front of and behind the camera. After he had to sing a song or two in a few films before, he released his first German single "Fliegen" in 2015, which was the soundtrack for his film production "Der Nanny". The fans loved the song and quickly took it to number 58 on the German charts. In February 2017 he gave his first concert in Berlin and in the same year he toured through Germany with the "LachenWeinenTanzen" tour. His last album entitled "Hobby" was released in 2020, and was tenth on the German album charts at the time. It is unclear whether the 41-year-old multi-talent will release more music in the future. In any case, his fans would be very happy, that's clear.

One thing that is also clear is that Matthias is a family person. Together with his ex-girlfriend Angelika Schromm, the actor has two children, daughter Greta and son Valentin, who is five years younger. Schromm and Schweighöfer had been a couple for over fourteen years and had met while filming. Angelika Schromm is a film author known for the film "The Day Comes". Despite the separation, the 41-year-old has a very close relationship with both of his children and was able to spend a lot of time with them, especially during the Corona Pandemic. Matthias finally had some peace and didn't have to rush from one event to the next. Since then he has deliberately taken days off to be there for his little family. At the moment it even looks like daughter Greta is also interested in acting and her dad's art. The 12-year-old sees her father as a great role model and even had a small role in a movie, says Matthias proudly.

Matthias also takes a little more time for his colleague and relationship partner Ruby O. Fee (25). Despite a fourteen-year age difference, the two are a beautiful couple and fit together like a glove. The first meeting of the two took place during the shooting of the German popular children's film "Bibi & Tina". After that, Matthias and Ruby met again and again at several castings until they finally made their relationship official in 2019.

Recently, the two celebrated on March 11th the birthday of the 41st-year-old Matthias, and to mark the occasion, Ruby posted a sweet series of Instagram photos of her and the birthday man.

In the Netflix films "Army of the Dead" and "Army of Thieves", in which Ruby also plays a leading role, Schweighöfer not only starred but also directed them. Instead of hiding his German accent in American films, he uses it and is therefore even a small Hollywood star in the USA today. Thanks to his film "Army of Thieves", Matthias has already been a guest on major US programs and shows such as Jimmy Fallon and Kelly Clarkson. Due to his likable way of presenting himself and his self-deprecating character, he has now also been able to win the American viewers over to his side.

The next American blockbuster with Matthias Schweighöfer has already been announced and is now making Matthias an international star. The movie Heart of Stone is coming to Netflix soon. Big celebrities like "Wonder Woman" star Gal Gadot or "Fifty Shades of Gray" star Jamie Dornan play at Matthias's side.
