The very talented Indian actress and playback singer Shruti Haasan became famous as a child and is known for her beautiful voice and her fabulous acting skills. She practically grew up acting as both of her parents, Kamal Haasan and Sarika Thakur, are already successful actors. She sang for the first time as a playback singer in the film "Thevar Magan" when she was only six years old, and also started her singing career very early.

When Shruti was 14 years old, she got a guest role in front of the camera for the first time, in the film "Hey Ram", which her father Kamal wrote, produced, and also directed. She also worked in the production of the film “Unnaipol Oruvan” at her father's side as music director and then even founded her own rock band when she was only 16 years old. Shruti was the lead singer and keyboard player in her own little band "The Extramentals". The band consisted of Brian Pavian, the guitarist, Kitha, Jeremiah, and Shruti herself. "The Extramentals" performed at various college festivals, won several competitions, and rocked every stage!

But back then, she wasn't quite as famous as we know Shruti today! In an interview, she said that when she was 17, she sang the Celine Dion hit "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic in a restaurant in Mumbai several times and no one really recognized her back then.

In 2009, at the age of 23, the young singer and actress made her acting debut in the Bollywood film and action thriller "Luck". She then starred in numerous Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi Bollywood films. She also continued working as a playback singer, and in 2012 and 2015 she was even nominated for the "Filmware Award as best female playback singer". In the same year she won the award for the best actor and only a year later (2016) she won the award for the best performance in a leading role!

 Among other things, Shruti was starred in the action thriller movie "Krack", which was released this year. The film was a huge success! At the moment, Shruti is waiting for the release of the film “Laabam”, in which she worked with Vijay Sethupathi for the first time.

Her parents are very proud!

The parents of the popular Bollywood actress, Kamal Haasan, and Sarika Thakur, are also both in the acting industry and are very proud of their admirable daughter. Her father Kamal became known at an early age as a child artist exactly like his daughter. He then got many leading roles in Bollywood films, worked in the direction, and even produced films himself. Shruti's mother, Sarika, also became known as a child artist and made her first appearance in a Bollywood film when she was only five years old. When she got married to Kamal and became pregnant with Shruti, she paused her acting career for a short time. After the divorce, however, she took it up again and subsequently won several prizes. When her parents' 14-year-old marriage ended in 2004, Shruti was still in her teenage years. However, she said in an interview that it was probably better that way because she can clearly see how much happier her parents were after the divorce. She thinks that two people are not obligated to stay together if they can no longer stand each other. She emphasized that the two continue to be wonderful parents who support their children in every situation.

Shruti's younger sister Akshara Haasan also followed in the footsteps of her parents and her older sister. The 29-year-old is an Indian actress and has already appeared in comedies such as “Shamitabh” or “Kadaram Kondan”. So basically the whole family is in the acting business!

The 35-year-old has never published an official relationship status. For some time now, however, she has often been seen with the co-founder of the “Gauhati art project” Santanu Hazarika. In her Instagram story, she posts photos with him from time to time and on her birthday a video was even published where the two walk hand in hand. Shruti once mentioned on Instagram how Santanu and her cat Clara are inseparable lockdown buddies and also uploaded a picture collage with him. They probably spent a lot of time together during the corona pandemic. The exact time of how long the two have been together is unknown, but they seem to be a very happy couple.
