The German television presenters and comedians Joachim Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf are best known in Germany as the duo "Joko and Klaas". They can currently be seen in the fifth season of the popular format "Joko and Klaas versus ProSieben", in which the comedy duo compete against various stars or other people who represent the channel. These are, for example, actors or athletes, but also viewers who have previously applied for the format. If Joko and Klaas win the duel, they get 15 minutes of broadcasting time on the channel, which they can fill as they wish. However, if they lose, they get a penalty from ProSieben and have to put up with it without further ado. In the latest episode, Joko and Klaas used their 15 minutes of airtime to draw attention to the war in Ukraine. During the prime time they virtually invited the Ukrainian band "Selo i Ludy", who at the time were in a bunker in the heavily attacked city of Kharkiv. They have set up a backup studio in the bunker and are trying to make the best of the situation. However, the band is not complete, because the drummer had to flee from the Russian attacks with his wife. Lead singer Alexander hopes for him to return when the war is over. Then they played the German song "Du Hast", with the emotional lines; "Will you till death do us part / be faithful to her for all days", which are probably addressed to the band member who had to flee the country. The intention behind all this is to give people a real insight into the everyday life of Ukrainians. You see all this terrible news on the internet and often you can't really imagine what it's really like. Really a great gesture by the television duo!

But who are Joko and Klaas and how are they privately, behind the camera?

Joachim Winterscheidt was born on January 13, 1979 in Mönchengladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia. He was always a born comedy presenter, even if it wasn't until later that he really realized it. Before that, he broke off an apprenticeship as an advertising salesman and also applied for pilot training - without success. But then, with Klaas by his side, he went on TV and was immediately very popular with the fans for his funny, open nature. He is also very popular with the girls, but has been in a very happy relationship with his beloved girlfriend Lisa Sauer for almost 17 years. The two have a daughter, Mila-Marie, who was born in 2010. Joko attaches great importance to really keeping his private life private and the moderator has done well so far. For example, he is rarely seen in public with his longtime girlfriend, and almost nothing is known about his daughter either.

Klaas Heufer-Umlauf was born on September 22, 1983 in Oldenburg, Lower Saxony. In addition to the television appearances with his partner Joko, he has several other projects running. For example, social commitment is very important to him; As a member of the association "Freunde für's Leben - eV" he is committed to understanding for people affected by depression. He is also active against right-wing radicalism and supports people suffering from leukemia. Klaas has also been in a long-term relationship with TV presenter and actress Doris Golpashin since 2012 and has two sons with her. The first son was born in 2013, and the second in 2018. Like his partner Joko, he also keeps his life outside of show business very private.
