Stefanie Giesinger - The top model with a very strong character

Stefanie Giesinger is probably known as the winner of the ninth season of the German show "Germany's Next Top Model" 2014. This success was the starting point of a long model and influencer career for the young Stefanie.

Stefanie Giesinger was born on August 27, 1996, in Kaiserslautern in Germany into a Russian-German family. She is the first in her family to be born in Germany. Her parents are both from Siberia. She grew up in poor circumstances. Both of her parents worked multiple jobs to keep the family afloat. Today Steffi can be proud of herself and supports her family financially so that they no longer have any problems.

Steffi was interested in fashion from an early age and says that she owes it to her grandmother. At the age of 13, she discovered her interest in modeling. When she took part in "Germany's Next Top Model", she was only 17 years old. At that time, her best friend sent pictures of Steffi to “GNTM“. When she won the show, she still wanted to finish school and get her high school diploma because it was very important for her. She didn't want to lose sight of the important things.

After "GNTM" Steffi was not doing so well mentally. The modeling industry was very hard on her and she began to doubt herself. She became increasingly dissatisfied with her body, found herself overweight, and developed a very bad relationship with food and with herself. Today she can only shake her head. Thankfully she is in much better mental shape now. Today, the beautiful model walks at the biggest international fashion shows and is the face of numerous world-famous fashion and beauty brands such as "L'Oréal". She is also under contract with the fashion agency "Muse Mode Management" in New York. Her first big fashion deal was after GNTM in 2014 when she was on the cover of Cosmopolitan, a German women's magazine with over a million monthly readers.

When Stefanie appeared again as a guest on "GNTM" in 2019, five years after her victory, the then 22-year-old explained how suddenly her life changed after her success on the show; "Everyone suddenly knew me from one night to the next," she said in an interview with Heidi Klum.

Stefanie's name is not only heard often in the model world, but Steffi is also often involved in great charities. In addition to organizations such as "FridaysForFuture" or movements such as "BLM (Black Lives Matter)", in which Steffi is actively involved and shares this on social media, Stefanie has made ice cream together with "Lycka", where the full income and all proceeds flow to the country of Malawi in Africa. Malawi is one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world and suffers from world hunger. The 25-year-old traveled to Malawi with the “Lycka” team to give her followers a precise insight into where the money for the ice cream goes.

In addition to this great campaign, Steffi also developed and financed an app with the help of several people, which enables cancer patients and their relatives to communicate and get to know each other. In a video, she explains that YesWeCancer is almost like Tinder, only for sick people.

Stefanie herself knows what it's like to be in the hospital for a long time. Between the ages of five and thirteen, she was hospitalized at least three times a year, sometimes for very long stays. Little Stefanie missed a lot of school and none of the doctors knew what was wrong with her. Many doctors claimed that she was anorexic because she was underweight, but Stefanie knew that she was not anorexic. After some time they found out that Steffi has been suffering from malrotation since birth. Malrotation is a deadly disease in which the small and large intestines are twisted. If the disease is detected early and in time, it can be treated surgically. Unfortunately, this was not the case with Stefanie, which is why the doctors can no longer do anything for her. At that time it was a big shock for Stefanie and her family. Today, the 25-year-old lives with her illness and enjoys every moment to the fullest.

The 25-year-old is clearly in favor of peace in Ukraine. She herself has Russian roots and cannot understand how one can hate other people so much. On Instagram, she posted a picture with the comment "I stand with Ukraine" and refers to a link in her bio that leads to a fundraiser.

A big part of her life is her friend and lover Marcus Butler. The two met at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016. They danced together at a Katy Perry performance and immediately liked each other. Marcus fell in love with Stefanie at first sight. With 3.9 million followers, he is one of the largest British YouTubers. The two have been together for almost six years and now live together. They are an absolute dream couple! Steffi says about Marcus that he is her home. There have also been rumors of an engagement, but nothing has been confirmed by them.

In 2019 Stefanie and Marcus founded their own fashion brand under the name "NU-IN". The focus of quality and production should be on sustainability. The characteristic of fashion is the minimalist and trend-conscious style. Because of the corona pandemic, most of the shoots for the clothes had to take place at home in the Steffi's apartment. But they didn't mind because they really enjoyed their work.

Steffi has her own channel on YouTube, where she uploaded a short documentary about her and her story. The 'Her Story' Documentary has received over half a million views and gives Stefanie's fans a little insight into her private life. In the video, Steffi explains how lucky she is in life and how she was in the right place at the right time to start her career. The pretty 25-year-old is probably successful because of her honest and authentic manner. Steffi makes one thing clear in her documentary; She loves modeling but actually doesn't like being judged on her looks at all. She tells how she had many mental problems in the past because of this, but found a good balance today. Because modeling is just a job and she has enough people who love her for who she is.

Stefanie Giesinger is not only beautiful on the outside but also on the inside and a real role model for her fans and followers.
