To learn more about Kevin Johnson today, we hope to welcome the professional boxer to Bloggercube soon. Since the fighter is not on social media much, this would be an excellent opportunity to chat with Johnson.

US professional boxer Kevin Blue Johnson was born on September 07, 1979, in Asbury Park, New Jersey in USA. Thus, today he is already 43 years old, but this does not stop him from still being regularly active in the ring. Johnson is 1.91 meters tall and weighs about 112 kilograms. Thus, he belongs to the heavyweight weight class in boxing. His fight name in boxing is "Kingpin." Unlike many other successful professional boxers, he started the sport only at the age of 18. Before that, finishing school was his priority. He really wanted to finish high school so that if boxing didn't work out, he would have a backup. However, by entering the sport later, he had no disadvantage, because he worked hard, trained a lot, and after a short time was at least on the same level as other boxers. In this early period, he had a total of sixteen amateur fights, of which he won a proud fourteen. Today, the right-handed trader lives in Lawrenceville, Georgia in the USA.
The professional boxer grew up without a father in a bad neighborhood in New Jersey. His single mother and grandmother did everything they could to give his seven siblings a good life with little money. To this day, Kevin is incredibly grateful for that time. His priority, and that of his siblings, was always his schooling, which is why he didn't start playing sports until he graduated and found his passion. One of his brothers is now a lawyer, and another a doctor. The children make their family and mother proud. Even though Kevin Johnson was the black sheep of the siblings for a long time, today he is the star of the family. In his youth, he hung around with drug addicts and delinquents on the streets. Johnson therefore always emphasizes that he is sure that he has far more experience in street fights than one or another world professional boxer. He got from the streets to the top on his own.
Not much is currently known about the private life of the professional boxer. What is known, however, is that Johnson did not have an easy start to his boxing career. He started training at the age of 17. Shortly after he had a couple of amateur fights in 2002, there was an altercation on the street in which the aspiring professional boxer beat up a man to such an extent that he sustained serious injuries. As a result, Johnson was sentenced to 18 months in prison. At the time, the world ended for him because the sentence meant he could no longer see his young daughter Fatimah, who was only three years old at the time. After he was released, the next big blow happened for Johnson; his then-girlfriend and the mother of their daughter died in a bad car accident. Because of his past, Johnson had to fight hard for custody. The court was unsure if he could care for a little girl. Fortunately, he was allowed to keep and raise his daughter. He said at the time that prison had changed him and he now knew what kind of person he wanted to be.
During this process, however, Kevin Johnson stayed strong and used boxing as a distraction. He intensified his boxing training and got a new trainer. Former heavyweight Larry Holmes brought Johnson to his first professional fight in 2003. He then made his debut as a professional boxer at the age of 24. He had his first fight in the professional league on February 13, 2003, where he managed to score a knockout in the fourth round. From that point on, everything happened very quickly and Johnson would already be scheduled for his fourth professional fight against the quite experienced boxer Uzbek Timur, who at that time had won thirteen fights in a row. Johnson at least scored a draw in this duel. In addition to sports, of course, he continues to devote his entire life to his daughter. A boxer always has a soft side, and Johnson's is his beloved daughter.
Since then, he has fought and defeated, among others, Bruce Seldon in Atlantic City in 2008, a very well-known professional boxer who was briefly the WBA World Heavyweight Champion in the 1990s and previously fought the also world-renowned professional boxer Mike Tyson.
Then in 2009, Johnson moved up to sixth place in the WBC rankings. In the same year, he was invited to the WBC World Championships, giving him the opportunity to fight the famous professional boxer Vitali Klitschko. Johnson was very convinced and said; "If you count the street fights, I have much more experience than Klitschko. Unfortunately, despite everything, he could not win this fight because he was injured at the elbow and could not use his most used punch, the jab, enough. Not many have managed to stand in the ring against the world-famous Klitschko for so long before.
In total, Kevin Johnson had 56 fights in the professional league, of which he won 35 and lost 20. His last two fights took place in Hamburg.
On May 30, 2015, Kevin was in the ring against Anthony Joshua, probably his strongest opponent so far. The 2012 British Olympic super heavyweight champion punched often and hard, prompting the referee to stop the fight after the second round.
After the long Corona break, Kevin Johnson was seen this year at "ECB Gym Boxing" in Hamburg, where he punched hands against boxer Victor Faust or at SES Boxing with the heavyweights. His last fight was against Andre Bunga on September 24, 2022, which ended in a draw by a split-point decision.
