The first episode of the sixth season of Love Island was shown on August 30, and the fans are thrilled. There is a new moderator in the new season; Jana Ina Zarrella is no longer moderating the show, now Sylvie Meis is standing in front of the camera.

Many people probably know the Dutch moderator from the jury of the RTL program “Das Supertalent”, in which she was present for a long time alongside Dieter Bohlen, Motsi Mabuse, and Bruce Darnell. In addition, she for example hosted her own model casting show "Sylvies Dessous Models" on RTL in 2018.

When private matters get too public ...

In addition to her television appearances, Sylvie Meis is a model and an entrepreneur. She has a son with the Dutch HSV player Rafael van der Vaart, with whom she got a divorce in 2013. The divorce was publicly known and was followed a lot by the media, which made Sylvie miserable.

In a YouTube video entitled “Answering your assumptions about me”, she addresses rumors and frequently asked questions about her private life. For example, when asked if she would ever get back together with Rafael van der Vaart, she answered with a resounding no and emphasized that both she and Rafael are in happy relationships. She also talks about how difficult it was after the breakup when she kept making headlines. She said that paparazzi stood in front of her house around the clock for at least two years, just waiting for a misstep or a new story.

At the end of the video, she talks about her breast cancer and chemotherapy and how much stronger she's got after overcoming cancer. She was particularly proud after her hair grew back, but also emphasizes that she liked her short hair as well.
